NUC-X Cautions and limitations A NUC-X is not designed for ALL applications
The NUC-X is designed for streaming audio and has been tested for use with roon While it can be used for a WIDE variety of applications, DejitterIt can not support you with these other uses as this would be far to support intensive. Also there are limitations around power hungry applications that could cause issues.
Power limitations The standard linear is tailored toward using the NUC-X to do audio streaming at 3-10 watts. While the linear can handle up to 60 watts, it is possible some OS and software applications could require more power. This can result in the NUC-X and linear shuting down in a safe mode. If you want to use the NUC-X for other applications check with DejitterIt first. Another much larger linear is available at additional cost. This linear is more noisy electrically and so only recommended if required. Any questions should be directed to DejitterIt if you intend to use other applications / OS other then roon / Daphile ________________ The NUC-X does have a fan -- Don't panic For normal audio streaming use - the fan is not used A fan is required for this powerful CPU. Passive cooling is not a option. On some uses like during music import file scanning in roon this fan may come on very quietly and go off once finished. A linear and a NUC can get warm - good ventilation is always a good idea and keep a fan from coming on. ________________ USB / Thunderbolt ONLY SSD drives are supported. Spinning disc drives are not supported. Power hungry USB / Thunderbolt devices are not supported ________________ Support limitations DejitterIt cannot possibly know how to make every OS and program work. We make hardware not software. Software support is a responsibility of the user While we would love to know everything, we do not
